Going Green

Menus

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal nutrition requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.

All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

The USDA allowed an extension of a waiver allowing for the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program to be extended through Dec. 31, 2020, or until funding allows.  This waiver will allow the Ray-Pec Child Nutrition Department to provide completely FREE breakfast and lunch meals to all children up to age 18 residing within the district.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, Child Nutrition will transition to the SSO program and all breakfast and lunch meals served to students will be at no charge. This will continue through Dec. 31 (or as funding allows). The waiver does not affect the cost of meals served from Aug. 24 to Sept. 4, which were charged at the free, reduced, or full-price rate.

Families are still encouraged to complete the 2020-21 Free and Reduced Meal Application as this waiver is only granted through Dec. 31, 2020, or until funding allows.  At the point meals return to their free, reduced or paid rate, we want your meal account status ready.  If there has been a change in your household income, you are highly encouraged to complete the Free & Reduced Meal application, which can be done online at: www.rpchildnutrition.org.

VIPR students and 6-12 grade at home learners can sign up for weekly meal packs – breakfast and lunch -  at www.rpchildnutrition.org.  The meals packs will require pickup on Friday.

We know it's important for you to understand the nutrition provided in your student's school meals.  See the below links for a listing of the 8 Major Allergens (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, shellfish, fish, soy & wheat) in our menu items, Carbohydrate Information and a listing of those items containing Pork or Red Dye.  Additionally, our menus are interactive - if you hover over a menu item, the Ingredient Facts Label will appear.  If you require further product information, please call Child Nutrition at 816-892-1370.

A la Carte Options

All Raymore-Peculiar schools serve a variety of Smart Snacks and Beverages available for students to purchase.  Menu options are listed below.  It is important to discuss with your student their purchasing expectations in order to meet their nutritional needs and the family's financial goals.  If necessary, account blocks can be placed on your student's account.  Please call your cafeteria manager to discuss your options.
